WW2 Fairbairn Sykes Fighting Knife, Wilkinson
Sword, 3rd Pattern, sold. |
A Wilkinson Sword made WW2 British commando's F-S fighting knife
and sheath in good overall condition.

The 6 3/4 inch blade has clearly been sharpened and "cleaned"
a few times. The Wilkinson logo is still quite visible, but the
F-S logo can barely be seen. The "Y" shape ricasso shows
this to be a hand ground blade. The copper hilt has the remains
of the war time black paint. The leather sheath is in good condition,
though the "tabs" or "wings" are deteriorated,
clearly having been used for the purpose they were intended (the
stitching hole line is very apparent, so this knife was worn with
the sheath stitched to an item of the commando's clothing. There
is very slight movement of the blade in the hilt, but very slight.
A great example. Full sized images available upon request. Please
