A good example of a Victorian rifle regiment officer's sword by Firmin, one of the better makers to say the least. The etching still clear.

The 32 1/4 inch blade is in very good condition for its age, just under 1" at ricasso, the etching still clear, the blade still firm in the hilt. The steel hilt has patina but is steel, not plated, so could easily be cleaned if desired. The fishskin grip is in very good condition, the twisted grip wire bindings are all there, one smaller strand a little wayward if encouraged. The steel scabbard has a kink both sides, clearly done when the blade was outside. The swords sheathes and draws well. A very good example. Full sized / additional photos available upon request. Please quote item reference number C23 (620)
