Marked to makers WK & C (Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co) on the ricasso and owner's name "Eisenhauer" etched to the blade, this is a very good M1879 Prussian cavalry officer's sabre with pipe-backed blade.

The 31 3/4 inch blade is very nicely etched and firm in the hilt; the blade with some age and patina. The hilt is solid with a patina all over. The grey fishskin grip is in good shape though has lost its twisted grip wire. The scabbard is in good order and the sabre sheathes and draws well.
