19C Sudanese Crocodile Kaskara Sword Islamic/Arabic Scripts, Sold

In aged but overall good condition, a 19C Sudanese Crocodile Skin Kaskara Sword with Islamic / Arabic Scripts to the blade.

There are many kaskaras in the UK, where we bought this one, because of the Sudan Campaign (part of the Mahdist War) by the British army. But few are of crocodile skin with Islamic / Arabic type scrolls / scripts to the blade.

The 24 inch blade is in very good condition with very little patina spots, and is firm in the hilt. The crocodile skin hilt / grip is aged and with skin shrinkage, but overall good. The leather and crocodile skin scabbard is good but aged and has shrunk a little (the sword no longer fully sheathes). The sword sheathes and draws well.
