In aged but good condition, the Victorian British Staffordshire
Rifles Wilkinson Sword of Capt Abraham (Abram) Bass, famous cricket
patron, member of the famous Bass brewing family.
 

Wilkinson logo to ricasso, serial number to spine 10435 for 1860,
"Captain Bass" etched to blade. This is the sword of Capt
Abraham (Abram) Bass of the Staffordshire Rifles; details

The 32 1/2 inch blade is aged but sound with the etching still
clear and firm in the hilt. The hilt / guard equally is aged but
sound. The fishskin grip with moth or wear patches but still quite
good; the twisted grip wire still good. The leather with steel fittings
scabbard is good and the sword sheathes and draws well.
Nice sword, nicer original important owner provenance. A great
buy at £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference
