WW2 era / George VI Royal Engineers Officer's
Sword, Sold |
In good condition, a WW2 / George VI Royal Engineers Officer's
Sword, most likely made by Wilkinson Sword.

In good overall condition, no maker's or retailer's name etched
to blade and no serial number, but the proof slug is or alludes
to be for Wilkinson Sword.

The
32 1/2 inch blade is in good condition, some wear and patina, firm
in the hilt. The hilt with some age but overall very good, the grip
and twisted grip wire bindings equally so. The original leather
sword knot aged and cracked but sound. The leather field service
scabbard with some age but overall good. The sword sheathes and
draws well.
Nice sword, almost certainly a Wilkinson (as why just copy their
proof slug if it we made by a competitor), nicer price: £?
(too late, now sold). Please quote item reference AD45 (0504). Further
/ full sized images available upon request.
