In very good condition, a WW2 Imperial Japanese army officer's shin gunto katana, signed "Noshu seki ju Takeyama Yoshinao saku" with Showa acceptance stamp.

Takeyama Yoshinao was a Rikugun Jumei Tosho sword smith who therefore received tamehagane which is required to make high quality blades; click here for details.

The 26 1/4 inch blade is in exceptionally good condition, with minimal marks / scuffs. The sword generally is also very good for its age; the same and bindings are very good, so too the scabbard with the locking pin mechanism present and working well. The sword sheathes and draws well.
