19th / 20th Century Sudanese Manding Sword,
In very good condition, a superb Sudanese Manding, almost certainly
a war trophy.
A very attractive piece in very good condition but with just enough
age to the leather straps to indicate this is captured Sudanese
Mandang, brought home the Britain from the Mahdist
Revolution / War.
The 26 3/4 clearly hand forged blade is in very good condition
and firm in the hilt. The entire sword is in very good condition
though with some age apparent to the leather hanging straps, plus
the point of the blade is starting to appear through the chape as
the leather shrinks from age. The sword sheathes and draws well.
A couple of leather strands has broken loose, again through age.
We doubt that you will find a better example, so well worth our
£? (too late, now sold) price tag. Please quote item reference
