WW1 Era Austrian 1837 Model Cavalry Officer's
Sword (sold) |
In exceptionally good condition, a World War 1 period Austrian
cavalry officer's sword.

Exceptionally well etched, this is a scarce Austrian cavalry officer's
sword from the WW1 era, probably a British war trophy.

There is hardly a blemish on the exceptional 32 1/2 inch blade,
superbly etched. Blade firm in the hilt and sheathes / draws very
well into / out of the scabbard. The hilt has some wear to the plating,
as does the scabbard, but both in generally good order; the scabbard
with some marks and a ding. The black fishskin grip and twisted
grip wire bindings in very good shape. Marked to maker Stahle of
Stuttgart (GermanY) along the spine. A truly well above average
example and worth every penny and more of the price, Further / full
sized pictures available upon request. Item reference number A34
