Sold Item Notice

This is one of those rare collector to collector "Do you have one", "No, eat your heart out" swords. An exceptionally rare Russian naval officer's sword complete with its original scabbard, which makes it even rarer still. This otherwise unremarkable looking sword with its typical fuller to the tip blade (yes, that is how it is meant to be) is one of the main desires of all serious European sword collectors.

The 24 inch plain blade matches perfectly the original scabbard and is firm in the hilt. The hilt is in very good condition, the leather grip and twisted grip wire bindings firm and complete. The leather and gilt scabbard is aged and the leather split in the area of the shoe. The break actually is very easily repaired with epoxy resin glue because a lot of the break is under the shoe itself; serious buyers ask me for images and you will see.

Truly a chance to own something to gloat over to fellow collectors, and a very sound investment; these swords sell for more in Russia. Further / full-sized pictures available upon request. Item reference number A19.
