I am sure this is a late WW2, possibly Korean War knife because of the sheath and the fact the wings were removed / omitted for active service. I suspect this was a private purchase by either a Canadian or American officer or indeed non-commissioned soldier, due to their appreciation of antler horn grips and more flexibility over their personal equipment.
The 6 1/2 inch blade is still sharp and in good order. The brass cross section is a little battered as you might and should expect. The antler horn grip is in good condition. The leather sheath is aged and tired, but sound, the elastic snapped. Brass pommel cap in tight and sound order. A very rare and unusual version of the F-S fighting knife, yours for only was £? (too late, now sold). Full sized photos available upon request. My item reference number is 925 – Box 491-0.5m.
