British 1827 Pattern Victorian Rifle Volunteer
Officer's Sword (sold) |
A good to very good condition grey etched 1827 pattern British
volunteer rifle officer's sword and scabbard.

With very good grey etching, the blade in very good condition (a
few light rust spots but not many), the steel hilt able to be cleaned
if desired; a little bit of work could yield a seemingly near new
sword!

The lovely slightly curved 32 1/2 inch blade is firm in the hilt.
The hilt patinated but very sound. The fishskin grip in very good
order, as are the twisted grip wire bindings. The sword sheathes
exceptionally well. The metal scabbard has some light surface rust
(stabilized). Overall a great sword with a lot of easy restoration
potential if desired. Well worth the price tag. Further / full sized
pictures available upon request. Our item reference number 679 (282).
