1796 Patt. British Light Cavalry Officer's
Sabre, 70% blue & gilt (sold) |
A very good British light cavalry officer's sword with around
70% of the original blue and gilt remaining.
A lovely example of the 1796 pattern British light cavalry officer's
sabre with most of the original blue and gilt etch remaining. Everything
good about the sword and scabbard except for some grip wear / damage
or even repair under the pommel, hardly noticeable. The legendary
curved 32 inch blade with cavalryman, Georgian cypher, military
symbols, etc.
These sabres are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain in
such fine condition as collectors are very reluctant to let go of
them once they have acquired one. Further / full sized images available
upon request. Sword reference number 476 (61).
